Who we are

A school built by people who work in dental offices

Assist To Succeed was founded by Dr. Zachary Soard, a Las Vegas native who owns five dental practices in the valley. He started the program with his lead assistant, Amber, who brings 26 years of chairside experience.

The program is practical by design. Students train in a real office environment alongside working dental teams, not in a classroom simulation. The 10-week curriculum covers everything from chairside fundamentals to office management, and the externship places students inside Dr. Soard's Las Vegas practices and other partner offices across the valley to complete 80 hours of real-patient experience.

DMD, Founder and Program Director

Dr. Soard was born and raised in Las Vegas. He earned his Biology degree from UNLV and his DMD from the UNLV School of Dental Medicine. During dental school he served as a student instructor, a role he enjoyed enough to keep.

He now owns five dental practices in the Las Vegas valley and founded Assist To Succeed to bring the same hands-on mentorship to a new generation of dental assistants. He keeps up with continuing education and newer dental techniques, which means students learn current methods alongside the fundamentals that have worked for years. He also mentors new dentists and front office staff at his practices.

Amber has been a dental assistant for 26 years. She enjoys the variety that assisting brings to the workday and loves helping patients feel comfortable about their smiles.

She's excited to pass along what she's learned (both the technical skills and the patient-care instincts that take years to develop) to the next group of dental assistants. As lead instructor, she's the day-to-day backbone of the program.

Where students train

Externship partner practices

After completing the 10-week curriculum, students complete an 80-hour externship at one of Dr. Soard's Las Vegas practices or at a partner office across the valley. These are active, patient-seeing offices, not training simulations.

These five anchor the externship rotation, and additional partner offices across the valley also host externs. Your placement depends on the session and availability. Amber coordinates placements directly with students.
